PRICE LIST - NHS & PRIVATE FEES EXPLAINED

We offer a comprehensive range of NHS treatments at our practice and will refer patients to specialists when necessary. NHS treatment charges are determined by Practitioner Services and are consistent across all NHS dentists in Scotland. Dental examinations are provided at no charge for all patients. Following your examination, your dentist will discuss the treatment you need and provide an estimate of the associated costs.

NHS treatment is available at no cost for:

  • Individuals under the age of 26
  • Pregnant women and nursing mothers, until the baby is 12 months old.
  • Patients with certified exemptions from charges due to low income or receipt of specific benefits

NHS treatment is provided when clinically necessary to maintain good oral health. However, not all treatments are available through the NHS. For example, cosmetic treatments such as white fillings on back teeth, tooth-coloured crowns on molars, dental implants, teeth whitening and Invisalign are not covered. Scale and polish treatments are only provided on the NHS when clinically required.

Your dentist will clarify which treatments are covered under the NHS. The cost of NHS treatments is regulated by the Scottish Government and is the same for all NHS practices in Scotland. Patients are responsible for 80% of the cost, with a maximum payment of £384 per treatment course.

We also offer a full range of private treatments, and you are welcome to combine NHS and private care at any time. Once we have developed your treatment plan, we will provide a fully itemised written quotation. You will never feel pressured to make a decision; we simply ask that you inform us of your preferences and keep us updated if anything changes. We are always available to discuss your treatment plan with you.

Our practice follows a transparent pricing policy, ensuring you always know exactly what to expect in terms of cost and why.
